Ministry of Health-authorised checkpoint

Located in Bitritto (Ba), Fratelli Siciliani is a checkpoint authorised by the Ministry of Health in accordance with EC Regulation No. 1255/97 and subsequent amendments concerning Community criteria for checkpoints and adapting the route plan provided in the annexe to Directive 91/628/EEC. It has a large and modern control post (control post for animals in transit), authorisation CE.07.PS, where animals can rest in optimal conditions guaranteeing their welfare in compliance with all the requirements provided for by law).

The facility, built to modern animal welfare standards, is open 24 hours a day all year round.

Fratelli Siciliani in Bitritto specialises in fresh meat cutting and vacuum-packed meat from the most important national and international supply chains. They are also a Ministry of Health-authorised checkpoint.

All animals coming from northern and southern Europe usually stop at Fratelli Siciliani's facilities, and customers come from numerous European companies that transport and market live animals: mainly Spain, France, England, Germany and Greece.
